Corrections log

ConductAtlas maintains a public record of corrections, revised interpretations, and updated classifications. Serious governance infrastructure evolves transparently.

This log documents substantive corrections to ConductAtlas analysis and classifications, and every change record we have withdrawn after publishing it, with the reason. A withdrawn record's page stays readable and links back here. Routine updates such as new document versions, updated summaries from source changes, and expanded regulation coverage are not listed here. Methodology

SummaryMeasured 9 October 2026
October 2026: 919 change records withdrawn as artifacts of a superseded text extractor
On 8 and 9 October 2026 we withdrew 919 change records that had been first published between 18 April and 7 October 2026. They had been public for a median of 108 days (between 1 and 174).
Each recorded a difference between two captures of a page that lay in page furniture, not in the document: navigation menus, footers, page titles, language pickers, related-article lists, embedded page data, live counters and clocks. Our text extractor stopped reading these in two steps: navigation and footer stripping, deployed 10 September 2026 (890 of the 919 were first published before it), and extractor version 5, deployed 7 October 2026. Version 5 also drops page titles, video fallback text, menus built as select lists, link labels, loading placeholders and related-post lists, and folds invisible characters and typographic quotes. Re-extracted with version 5, the two captures behind each record contain the same text.
Each record has its own entry in this log, quoting what it described. Its page stays readable as a withdrawn record.

Target: change record CA-X-002960 recorded a difference our own extractor made
This record described a change to Target Terms and Conditions observed on Jun 14, 2026. What differed between the two captures it compared: “…ueries":[{"dehydratedAt":1781310905767,"state":{"data":{"data":{"met…” became “…ueries":[{"dehydratedAt":1781397895155,"state":{"data":{"data":{"met…”; “…Count":1,"dataUpdatedAt":1781310905534,"error":null,"errorUpdateCount":0,"errorUpdatedAt":0,"fetchFailureCount":0,"fetch…” became “…Count":1,"dataUpdatedAt":1781397894993,"error":null,"errorUpdateCount":0,"errorUpdatedAt":0,"fetchFailureCount":0,"fetch…”; and 2 more passage(s) of the same kind. That passage is page furniture, not part of the document, and the archive's current text extractor (version 5, deployed Oct 7, 2026) no longer reads it: re-extracted, the two captures contain the same text, so this record would not have been created. It is withdrawn as an artifact of how we read the page, not as a finding about Target's document. Measured Oct 9, 2026.
As published (withdrawn)
Target's Terms and Conditions update detected on June 14, 2026 involved modifications to 4 sentences within the 931-sentence document. The provided diff context shows fragments of minified JavaScript code and HTML markup related to page structure and navigation elements, rather than substantive changes to terms governing consumer rights, obligations, or commercial practices. Without access to the readable before-and-after text of the specific modified sentences, the operational impact of this change cannot be determined.

This record described a change to Replit Privacy Policy observed on Jun 12, 2026. What differed between the two captures it compared: “CA 5 : 47 PM Made in sunny California.” became “CA 1 : 13 AM Made in sunny California.”. That passage is page furniture, not part of the document, and the archive's current text extractor (version 5, deployed Oct 7, 2026) no longer reads it: re-extracted, the two captures contain the same text, so this record would not have been created. It is withdrawn as an artifact of how we read the page, not as a finding about Replit's document. Measured Oct 9, 2026.
As published (withdrawn)
Replit updated a timestamp reference in their privacy policy on June 12, 2026. The previous version stated 'CA 5:47 PM' while the updated version states 'CA 1:13 AM'. This appears to be a timestamp or metadata update with no material change to the privacy policy terms, obligations, or user protections themselves.

Target: change record CA-X-002910 recorded a difference our own extractor made
This record described a change to Target Privacy Policy observed on Jun 12, 2026. What differed between the two captures it compared: “…ossorigin="anonymous"/><script>window.__FLAGS__ = JSON.parse("{\"GLOBAL_ADD_TO_CART_NOTIFY_ME_ENABLED\":true,\"GLOBAL_AD…” became “…ossorigin="anonymous"/><script id="beacon-prehydration"> fetch('/api/beacon/top-of-funnel?beaconType=prehydration&formFa…”; “…9:59.999Z"},{"tid":"","pl":[{"SWITCH_DESIRABILITY_CUES_WITH_ORNAMENTS":true}],"et":"2026-12-01T05:59:59.999Z"},{"tid":""…” became “…9:59.999Z"},{"tid":"","pl":[{"BEACON_DROPOFF_TRACKING_ENABLED":false,"BEACON_PREHYDRATION_TRACKING_ENABLED":true}],"et":…”; and 3 more passage(s) of the same kind.
Target added a new beacon tracking script to its website that fires on page prehydration, based on the insertion of a `<script id="beacon-prehydration">` tag that calls `/api/beacon/top-of-funnel?beaconType=prehydration&formFactor=desktop`. This technical change enables Target to send performance or analytics data immediately as the page loads, before full user interaction. The practical operational difference is that Target now collects additional prehydration event data that may include visitor behavior signals earlier in the page load sequence.

OpenSea: change record CA-X-002908 recorded a difference our own extractor made
This record described a change to OpenSea Privacy Policy observed on Jun 12, 2026. What differed between the two captures it compared: “…of Service Privacy Policy $1,678.32 Support Collector Pro Crypto…” became “…of Service Privacy Policy $1,668.28 Support Collector Pro Crypto…”. That passage is page furniture, not part of the document, and the archive's current text extractor (version 5, deployed Oct 7, 2026) no longer reads it: re-extracted, the two captures contain the same text, so this record would not have been created. It is withdrawn as an artifact of how we read the page, not as a finding about OpenSea's document. Measured Oct 9, 2026.
As published (withdrawn)
OpenSea's privacy policy was updated on June 12, 2026, but the detected change is minimal and appears to be a pricing figure adjustment in the document header or metadata, changing from $1,678.32 to $1,668.28. This appears to be a non-substantive modification, possibly reflecting a fee or display adjustment rather than a policy term change. No material operational change to privacy practices or user obligations is evident from the available change data.

As published (withdrawn)
OpenSea's Terms of Service were updated on June 12, 2026, with a modification to one sentence within the 330-sentence document. The detected change shows a numerical value shift from $1,678.32 to $1,668.28 in a section containing navigation links and account information. This appears to be a display value update rather than a substantive policy change, and the operational significance of this specific change cannot be determined from the provided diff context alone.
