Google Play Terms

This document governs user access to and use of Google Play, including applications, games, films, books, magazines, and other digital content, and operates as a supplemental agreement to the Google Terms of Service, with the Play ToS taking precedence in the event of conflict. The agreement states that users are granted a non-exclusive personal, non-commercial license to store, access, view, use, and display purchased or downloaded Content; the terms authorize Google to automatically install security-critical updates regardless of user device settings, to remove or disable access to previously purchased Content under specified conditions (including loss of licensing rights, security issues, or terms violations), and to share user personal data including name and email address with Providers to process transactions. The agreement asserts that all sales are final absent express refund policy provisions, and authorizes Google to delete Content from user devices without a guaranteed refund mechanism beyond a partial or full price refund at Google's discretion; these assertions engage consumer protection frameworks in multiple jurisdictions, particularly the EU and Vietnam, where statutory withdrawal and warranty rights may constrain or override these terms as written. The document engages Vietnamese consumer protection law and Google's own privacy policy framework, with potential interaction with GDPR for EU-resident users accessing the service, and with local data protection regulations governing the transfer of personal data including SIM card identifiers and billing address information to mobile network operators. Family group managers bear full financial liability for all Content purchases made by family members using the designated family payment method, a provision with material financial exposure that compliance teams and family account holders should evaluate carefully.
