The Texas Responsible Artificial Intelligence Governance Act establishes governance requirements for high-risk AI systems used in Texas. It requires deployers of high-risk AI systems to implement governance programs, conduct impact assessments, provide consumer notice and opt-out mechanisms, and maintain human oversight for consequential decisions. The Act defines high-risk AI systems as those used to make consequential decisions in employment, education, financial services, healthcare, housing, insurance, and government services. It is enforced exclusively by the Texas Attorney General.
