What it is

Synthesia may use videos, images, and audio you upload — including recordings used to build AI avatars — to train and improve their AI systems, unless you tell them not to.

Consumer impact (what this means for users)

Your facial likeness and voice recordings uploaded for avatar creation may be used to train Synthesia's commercial AI, potentially improving products sold to other customers, unless you actively opt out by emailing privacy@synthesia.io.

What you can do

⚠️ These actions may provide transparency or partial mitigation but may not fully address the underlying issue. Effectiveness varies by jurisdiction and individual circumstances.
  • Delete Your Data
Send an email to privacy@synthesia.io stating that you wish to opt out of the use of your uploaded content for AI model training, and/or request deletion of your personal data including any uploaded recordings.

Why it matters (compliance & risk perspective)

This means your likeness and voice could be used commercially to develop AI products beyond your own videos, and the opt-out is not automatic — you must proactively contact Synthesia to prevent this.
