What it is

You own the data you put into HubSpot, but HubSpot owns its platform software. Importantly, any suggestions or feedback you give HubSpot about improving the service can be used by HubSpot permanently and without paying you.

This analysis describes what HubSpot's agreement states, permits, or reserves. It does not constitute a legal determination about enforceability. Regulatory applicability and practical outcomes may vary by jurisdiction, enforcement context, and individual circumstances. Read our methodology

ConductAtlas Analysis

Why it matters (compliance & governance perspective)

While customer data ownership is clearly protected, the perpetual feedback license means that product improvement ideas, feature requests, and enhancement suggestions shared with HubSpot become HubSpot's intellectual property to use without compensation or attribution.

The agreement permits HubSpot to use customer data to train AI models, subject to contractual obligations. You can opt out of having your data used to train AI models by updating your settings in your HubSpot account.
