While the data is described as anonymized, the breadth of behavioral data Amplitude processes means there is a residual re-identification risk, and customers cannot opt out of this use of their data.
Businesses using Amplitude retain ownership of the customer behavioral data they send to the platform, but Amplitude separately collects Operational Data about how the platform is used and may use this for its own product development and business purposes. The limitation of liability clause caps Amplitude's financial exposure to fees paid in the preceding twelve months, which may be significantly lower than the value of disruption or data loss a business could experience. You can review and negotiate the separate Data Processing Agreement before signing, as it governs the most material data protection obligations.
