Why it matters (compliance & governance perspective)

This provision requires advertisers to represent active compliance with U.S. OFAC sanctions and equivalent export control frameworks as a condition of platform access, and establishes that responsibility for this compliance rests with the advertiser rather than being validated solely by Google's platform controls. Advertiser organizations with international operations, agency relationships, or clients in proximity to embargoed regions face heightened due diligence obligations under this clause.
