What it is

Equifax reserves the right to modify, discontinue, or terminate any product or the agreement itself for any reason, with or without notice. If an entire product is cancelled, the agreement states users receive a pro-rated refund for undelivered product; if a product is merely modified or a feature discontinued, the stated recourse is limited to cancellation under Section 11.

This analysis describes what Equifax's agreement states, permits, or reserves. It does not constitute a legal determination about enforceability. Regulatory applicability and practical outcomes may vary by jurisdiction, enforcement context, and individual circumstances. Read our methodology

Why it matters (compliance & governance perspective)

This provision establishes asymmetric termination rights, under which Equifax may cancel, suspend, or modify products or the agreement for any reason with or without notice, while the user's recourse for product modifications or feature discontinuation is limited to voluntary cancellation. The provision makes the stated pro-rated refund right contingent on full product cancellation rather than partial modification.
