If someone gains unauthorized access to your account and makes purchases or posts content, Amazon holds you responsible for those actions — and children under 18 are legally restricted from independent use.
The agreement requires most disputes with Amazon to proceed through individual arbitration, waiving the right to class action lawsuits or jury trials, which limits collective legal remedies for widespread issues. Amazon's liability is capped at the amount paid for the relevant service or $100 (whichever is greater), regardless of the nature of the harm. You can opt out of the arbitration agreement by notifying Amazon in writing within 30 days of first accepting these terms at the mailing address provided in the arbitration section.
