Consumer impact (what this means for users)

Your account and access to your funds can be suspended or closed immediately at Revolut's discretion, including without prior notice, which creates material financial access risk especially for customers using Revolut as a primary account.

What you can do

⚠️ These actions may provide transparency or partial mitigation but may not fully address the underlying issue. Effectiveness varies by jurisdiction and individual circumstances.
  • Close Your Account
If your account has been closed unexpectedly and you cannot access your funds, email support@revolut.com to request return of any remaining balance. You can also contact via in-app chat or call (844) 744-3512.

Why it matters (compliance & risk perspective)

Revolut's right to suspend or close your account immediately — including for any reason it decides — could leave you without access to your funds without warning, which is particularly significant for customers who rely on the account as a primary financial tool.

View original clause language
We can suspend or permanently end your access to the Revolut app or your account at any time if: we reasonably believe you have broken these terms and conditions; we are required or permitted to do so by law or regulation; we reasonably believe that your account is being used fraudulently or for any illegal purpose by you or someone else; or for any reason we decide. If we do this, we will let you know as soon as possible unless we are unable to do so for legal or security reasons.

Institutional analysis (Compliance & legal intelligence)

(1) REGULATORY FRAMEWORK: Account closure and suspension practices in prepaid accounts are regulated under Regulation E (12 CFR 1005.18) and the CFPB's Prepaid Accounts Rule. The EFTA requires issuers to provide error resolution rights and access to funds. Sudden account closures without adequate notice may also engage state unfair and deceptive acts and practices (UDAP) statutes. FinCEN SAR filing obligations (31 CFR §1020.320) may constrain the ability to notify users in AML-related closures. (2)
