1) REGULATORY LANDSCAPE: Data subject rights obligations are established under GDPR Articles 15 through 22 for EU/UK residents and CCPA/CPRA Sections 1798.100 through 1798.125 for California residents. Response timeframes are regulated: GDPR requires response within one month (extendable to three in complex cases); CCPA requires response within 45 days (extendable by an additional 45 days). The Irish DPC, UK ICO, and California Privacy Protection Agency are the primary enforcement authorities. 2) GOVERNANCE EXPOSURE: Medium. Failure to respond to data subject requests within statutory timeframes is a common area of regulatory enforcement. Organizations that receive forwarded data subject requests from Mixpanel's customers should ensure their own intake processes can meet these deadlines. 3) JURISDICTION FLAGS: EU and UK residents hold the broadest set of rights under GDPR and UK GDPR. California residents hold CCPA/CPRA rights. Residents of Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, and other states with enacted privacy laws may also hold rights, though the policy does not enumerate state-by-state rights beyond California. 4) CONTRACT AND VENDOR IMPLICATIONS: Business customers that receive data subject requests relating to personal data processed by Mixpanel on their behalf must have processes for forwarding those requests to Mixpanel and for coordinating responses within statutory deadlines. DPAs should specify timelines for Mixpanel to assist with data subject request fulfillment. 5) COMPLIANCE CONSIDERATIONS: Compliance teams should map data subject request intake workflows to confirm that requests received by Mixpanel directly (for Mixpanel-controlled data) and by business customers (for processor-context data) are routed and responded to within applicable statutory timeframes. Verification procedures for identity confirmation in the rights exercise process should be reviewed for GDPR and CCPA compliance.
