Meta Ads removed Weight Loss and Cosmetic Products and Procedures as a separate category in its Health and Wellness advertising policy, detected on July 23, 2026. Weight loss and weight gain product ads are now covered under a general Health and Wellbeing category with the same 18+ age targeting requirement. The policy also removed specific prohibitions on ads that imply negative self-perception or declare a perfect body type, replacing this language with a reference to unnamed prohibited claims outlined elsewhere in the policy.

Meta Ads updated its Advertising Standards policy document on May 5, 2026 with primarily editorial changes. The updates include spelling corrections (changing 'behaviour' to 'behavior' and 'organisations' to 'organizations'), grammatical refinements (adjusting punctuation and phrasing for clarity), and minor capitalization standardization.
