Companies change their terms quietly. We read every version and catch what actually changed. One email a week on the changes that matter and what they mean.
This page describes what the document states, permits, or reserves. It does not constitute a legal determination about enforceability. Regulatory applicability may vary by jurisdiction. Methodology
This document sets out the rules for using Hulu's streaming service. Your subscription renews automatically, cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period, and Hulu is not required to warn you before a free trial converts to a paid subscription. If something goes wrong, Hulu makes no warranties about its service and your ability to recover money from Hulu is capped at $1,000 total, with any disputes resolved through individual arbitration rather than in court.
Hulu's Terms of Use establish the conditions under which individual users may access its streaming services, granting a limited, personal-use, non-transferable, revocable, non-exclusive, and non-sublicensable license to stream or temporarily download copyrighted content for noncommercial purposes only. Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing term and cancellations take effect at the end of the current term, with no refunds or credits for partial periods except as required by applicable law or granted at Hulu's sole and absolute discretion. Hulu disclaims all express, implied, and statutory warranties and caps its total aggregate liability to any user at US $1,000 across all damages, losses, and causes of action. All disputes are subject to mandatory binding individual arbitration with a class action and representative proceeding waiver, except for claims within small claims court jurisdiction. Use of Hulu's content or services in connection with any AI or machine learning development, training, testing, benchmarking, or validation is expressly prohibited.
As a Hulu user, you receive a revocable, personal-use-only license to stream content that cannot be shared outside your household unless your service tier expressly permits it, and that cannot be used in connection with any AI or machine learning activity. Your subscription renews automatically, you will be billed for all remaining periods in a term after cancellation, and Hulu will not send you a separate advance notice when a free trial is about to end or convert to a paid plan. You have no contractual right to a partial-period refund, Hulu provides no warranties about its content or services, and your total financial recovery from Hulu across all claims is capped at $1,000. If you have a dispute, you must bring it as an individual binding arbitration claim — not as a class or representative action — unless it falls within small claims court jurisdiction. To avoid being charged for a new subscription term, you must cancel following Hulu's cancellation instructions before the current term ends.
