Companies change their terms quietly. We read every version and catch what actually changed. One email a week on the changes that matter and what they mean.
This page describes what the document states, permits, or reserves. It does not constitute a legal determination about enforceability. Regulatory applicability may vary by jurisdiction. Methodology
These Terms govern how you can use GM's Web site and what happens to content you submit. When you post anything, you give GM broad, permanent, and irrevocable rights to use it however GM sees fit for its business. GM can change these rules at any time without telling you, can terminate your account and permanently ban you from re-registering at its sole discretion, and accepts no legal liability to you for any damages arising from your use of the site.
General Motors' Terms of Use establish the conditions under which users may access and interact with the Web site, including the rights users grant GM over submitted content and the obligations users assume. Users grant GM a worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable, and transferable license to use, reproduce, distribute, prepare derivative works of, display, and perform User Submissions in connection with the Web site and GM's business, with licenses over User Comments held on a perpetual and irrevocable basis. GM disclaims all express and implied warranties and all categories of damages liability to users, requires users to indemnify GM and its associated entities against any and all claims arising from their use of the site, and contractually shortens the limitations period for any cause of action to one year from accrual. GM reserves the right to amend the Terms at any time without notice and may, at its sole discretion, warn or terminate a user's account and permanently bar re-registration upon a guideline violation.
Any content you submit to the Web site becomes subject to a permanent, irrevocable license that GM can sublicense and transfer to others without compensating you. If GM determines you have violated its user guidelines, it may warn you or permanently delete your account and all your content, and you will be permanently barred from creating a new account. You waive the right to pursue GM over objectionable content posted by other users, you agree to indemnify GM against any claims connected to your use of the site, and any legal claim you have against GM related to the Web site must be filed within one year or it is permanently barred. If you have any connection to GM or its agencies or representatives, you are required to disclose that connection in any content you submit.
