"We may modify this Agreement (including any Policies) at any time by posting a revised version on the AWS Site or by otherwise notifying you in accordance with Section 11.10. The modified terms will become effective upon posting or, if we notify you by email, as stated in the email message. The provision incorporates all Policies by reference, meaning changes to subsidiary policy documents such as the Acceptable Use Policy or Privacy Notice also take effect through this mechanism. 3. JURISDICTION FLAGS: EU and EEA customers may have additional protections under GDPR and consumer contract fairness directives that constrain the enforceability of unilateral modification clauses for material changes to data processing terms. UK customers under UK GDPR and the Consumer Rights Act 2015 may have analogous protections. California and other state consumer protection frameworks may impose specific notice requirements. 4. CONTRACT AND VENDOR IMPLICATIONS: Enterprise procurement and vendor management teams should establish monitoring mechanisms for AWS site updates to detect material term changes affecting contractual obligations, SLAs, and compliance posture. Organizations that have separately negotiated AWS Enterprise Agreements should confirm whether this general customer agreement's modification clause is superseded by their enterprise terms. 5. COMPLIANCE CONSIDERATIONS: Legal teams should assess whether a term change notification workflow is in place to review AWS site postings against existing compliance obligations, including data processing agreements, DPAs, and sector-specific regulatory requirements. Material changes to data-related policies may trigger data mapping updates, DPA amendments, or regulatory notification obligations depending on jurisdiction.
