These are the rules governing your use of Anthropic's consumer Services. Anthropic can change, suspend, or cut off your access at any time without warning, and its financial liability to you is capped at $100 or what you paid in the last six months, whichever is more. By default, content you submit may be used to train Anthropic's AI models — you can turn this off in your account settings — and if you pay for a subscription it will renew and charge you automatically until you cancel.
These Terms establish the conditions under which Anthropic provides its consumer-facing Services, defining both user obligations and Anthropic's reserved rights. Anthropic retains broad platform discretion, including the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Services or any user's access at any time without notice. Liability is severely curtailed: Anthropic disclaims all warranties on an 'as is' and 'as available' basis and caps its aggregate financial exposure to the greater of amounts paid in the preceding six months or $100, while also excluding the full spectrum of recognized damage categories. User-submitted Materials may be used for model training by default, subject to an opt-out available through account settings, and paid subscriptions renew automatically until affirmatively cancelled. Disputes are subject to exclusive jurisdiction in San Francisco, California courts, and users bear responsibility for compliance with U.S. export and sanctions restrictions.
As a user, your content is used to train Anthropic's AI models by default; you can opt out of this by changing the setting in your account settings. If you signed up for a subscription, your payment method is charged automatically on each renewal date until you cancel — no further confirmation is required from you. If you used a work email address to create your account, your employer's administrator may be able to monitor and control that account. If you are a resident of Brazil, Mexico, South Korea, or Taiwan, you have a right to cancel your subscription within 7 days of entering into it without giving a reason. Any dispute with Anthropic about these Terms must be brought exclusively in courts located in San Francisco, California.
