The updated terms establish mandatory binding arbitration for all disputes arising from use of Amazon Services or products sold through Amazon.com, replacing the previous court-based system in King County, Washington. Under the revised agreement, consumers waive the right to sue in court, have a jury trial, or participate in class actions; disputes must be resolved individually through JAMS arbitration. Exceptions exist for small claims court (if available in your jurisdiction), intellectual property injunctions, and disputes about compliance with the pre-arbitration procedure itself. Before initiating arbitration, you must contact Amazon customer service and complete a 60-day good-faith negotiation period using a formal Claim Form.
