Corrections log

ConductAtlas maintains a public record of corrections, revised interpretations, and updated classifications. Serious governance infrastructure evolves transparently.

This log documents substantive corrections to ConductAtlas analysis and classifications, and every change record we have withdrawn after publishing it, with the reason. A withdrawn record's page stays readable and links back here. Routine updates such as new document versions, updated summaries from source changes, and expanded regulation coverage are not listed here. Methodology

SummaryMeasured 9 October 2026
October 2026: 919 change records withdrawn as artifacts of a superseded text extractor
On 8 and 9 October 2026 we withdrew 919 change records that had been first published between 18 April and 7 October 2026. They had been public for a median of 108 days (between 1 and 174).
Each recorded a difference between two captures of a page that lay in page furniture, not in the document: navigation menus, footers, page titles, language pickers, related-article lists, embedded page data, live counters and clocks. Our text extractor stopped reading these in two steps: navigation and footer stripping, deployed 10 September 2026 (890 of the 919 were first published before it), and extractor version 5, deployed 7 October 2026. Version 5 also drops page titles, video fallback text, menus built as select lists, link labels, loading placeholders and related-post lists, and folds invisible characters and typographic quotes. Re-extracted with version 5, the two captures behind each record contain the same text.
Each record has its own entry in this log, quoting what it described. Its page stays readable as a withdrawn record.

Square: change record CA-X-003607 recorded a difference our own extractor made
This record described a change to Square Privacy Notice observed on Jul 11, 2026. What differed between the two captures it compared: “…are Data Processing Agreement Licenses Square Payment Terms Government Square Additional Point of Sale Terms Square Fina…” became “…are Data Processing Agreement Square Payment Terms Government Licenses Square Additional Point of Sale Terms Square Fina…”. That passage is page furniture, not part of the document, and the archive's current text extractor (version 5, deployed Oct 7, 2026) no longer reads it: re-extracted, the two captures contain the same text, so this record would not have been created. It is withdrawn as an artifact of how we read the page, not as a finding about Square's document. Measured Oct 9, 2026.
As published (withdrawn)
Square reorganized the footer section of their Square Privacy Notice on July 11, 2026 by reordering a list of linked documents and terms. The document previously listed 'Licenses' immediately after 'Square Data Processing Agreement'; the updated version moves 'Licenses' to appear after 'Square Payment Terms' in the Government section. This is a formatting and organizational change with no modification to the substantive content, protections, or obligations described in the privacy notice itself.

Square reordered the list of linked legal documents in their Terms of Service on July 11, 2026. Target: change record CA-X-003540 recorded a difference our own extractor made
This record described a change to Target Privacy Policy observed on Jul 8, 2026. What differed between the two captures it compared: “…op-of-funnel/_next/static/css/caa88bf7d7892fc3.css" as="style" crossorigin="anonymous"/><link rel="preload" href="https:…” became “…op-of-funnel/_next/static/css/84c34fe480f4e6f1.css" as="style" crossorigin="anonymous"/><link rel="preload" href="https:…”; “…op-of-funnel/_next/static/css/caa88bf7d7892fc3.css" crossorigin="anonymous"/><link rel="stylesheet" href="https://assets…” became “…op-of-funnel/_next/static/css/84c34fe480f4e6f1.css" crossorigin="anonymous"/><link rel="stylesheet" href="https://assets…”; and 3 more passage(s) of the same kind. That passage is page furniture, not part of the document, and the archive's current text extractor (version 5, deployed Oct 7, 2026) no longer reads it: re-extracted, the two captures contain the same text, so this record would not have been created. It is withdrawn as an artifact of how we read the page, not as a finding about Target's document. Measured Oct 9, 2026.
As published (withdrawn)
The detected change involves modifications to Target's website HTML and JavaScript configuration files rather than substantive updates to the Privacy Policy document itself. The diff shows changes to CSS stylesheet references, JavaScript chunk files, feature flags, and user location data in the server-side configuration. No material changes to the stated privacy policies, data collection practices, or user rights were identified in the provided diff context.

The detected change involves technical backend modifications to Target's website infrastructure and feature enablement, rather than substantive changes to the Terms and Conditions document itself. The update includes addition of new CSS stylesheet links and JavaScript bundle changes, as well as server-side location data modifications (geolocation data shifted from South Carolina to California coordinates). A new feature flag 'IS_CATEGORY_RADEUS_MODULE' was enabled and a module type 'ListingPageRadeusAd' was introduced. These are technical platform updates, not policy or terms modifications.

As published (withdrawn)
OpenSea's Privacy Policy was updated on July 8, 2026, but the detected change involves only a modification to pricing display information ($1,806.60 changed to $1,772.94) in the policy document header or footer area. This appears to be a routine update to currency or fee data, not a substantive change to privacy terms, data handling practices, or user protections.

OpenSea updated its Terms of Service on July 8, 2026, modifying one sentence within the 330-sentence document. The specific change involves a price adjustment from $1,806.60 to $1,772.94 displayed in the footer context, though the underlying operational change to the terms themselves cannot be determined from the price information alone. Without visibility into the actual modified sentence content, the practical implications of this terms change remain unclear.

Upwork updated its Model Context Protocol (MCP) Beta Participation Terms on July 8, 2026, restructuring the document with numbered sections and clarifying governance. The document added structural headers, removed 13 sentences of standalone section text, and modified 23 sentences to integrate them into a numbered outline format. Operationally, the substantive terms governing participant rights, data handling, intellectual property, and third-party AI tool integration remain substantively similar, though the reorganization may affect how participants locate and interpret specific provisions.
