The updated policy establishes explicit definitions for 15+ categories of personal data Sourcegraph collects, including Analytics Data, Usage Data, Device and Connection Data, and AI feature usage patterns. Previously, the policy described data collection more generically; the revised language now specifies that Sourcegraph collects feature interaction data, user identifiers, prompt metadata, deployment information, and system configuration data. The policy clarifies that Sourcegraph acts as a Data Controller when collecting data directly from users and as a Data Processor when handling customer data under customer agreements. We may continue to retain some information even after you delete your account if we are required to do so in order to comply with applicable laws.
After you submit a request to delete your account, we initiate a deletion process to safely and completely remove your data from our servers or retain it only in anonymized form.
We will promptly destroy personal information at the end of the retention period, as described above. When we destroy personal information, we do so in a way that prevents that information from being restored or reconstructed.
