Users cannot recover any portion of fees paid, regardless of how much of the billing period they actually use the Service or whether they change plans.
Fees paid for the Service are non-refundable; you will not receive refunds or credits for partial months, plan upgrades or downgrades, or unused months.
How other platforms handle this
Service fees are generally not refundable for returned items. If your order is refunded, we may issue a refund, replacement, or credit at our discretion.
No refunds of fees already paid will be given. Clients may opt out of the Direct Contract program or cancel a Service Contract...however Upwork will not refund any fees for Service Contracts that were considered active at any time in the month prior to the charge.
Refunds given by Google for billing inaccuracies under this Section will only be in the form of credit for the Services.
