What it is

For violations classified as egregious, including sexually explicit content and child sexual abuse material, Google states it will suspend Google Ads accounts immediately upon detection without prior warning and will not permit the advertiser to use Google Ads again. Google may use information from the advertiser's ads, website, accounts, and third-party sources to make this determination.

This analysis describes what Google Ads's agreement states, permits, or reserves. It does not constitute a legal determination about enforceability. Regulatory applicability and practical outcomes may vary by jurisdiction, enforcement context, and individual circumstances. Read our methodology

ConductAtlas Analysis

Why it matters (compliance & governance perspective)

This provision establishes an enforcement mechanism that authorizes immediate, permanent account suspension for egregious violations without prior notice, based on a review process that may include third-party sources outside the advertiser's direct control. The absence of a pre-suspension notice or cure period creates material operational exposure for advertisers relying on Google Ads for ongoing campaign delivery.

Consumer impact (what this means for users)

Under this clause, advertisers whose accounts are suspended for egregious violations lose platform access immediately and without prior warning. The agreement states that reinstatement occurs only in compelling circumstances, and the appeal pathway is described as available but not guaranteed to result in restoration of account access.

What you can do

⚠️ These actions may provide transparency or partial mitigation but may not fully address the underlying issue. Effectiveness varies by jurisdiction and individual circumstances.
  • Dispute a Fee
If your account is suspended and you believe it was in error, submit an appeal through the Google Ads account suspension appeal form. Provide a thorough, accurate, and honest explanation of why the suspension was issued in error.

Violations of this policy are taken very seriously and are considered egregious. An egregious violation of the Google Ads policies is a violation so serious that it is unlawful or poses significant harm to our users. In determining whether an advertiser or destination is violating this policy, Google may review information from multiple sources including your ad, website, accounts, and third-party sources. If violations of this policy are found, your Google Ads accounts will be suspended upon detection and without prior warning, and you will not be allowed to advertise with Google Ads again.
