Character.AI's terms grant the company a permanent, irrevocable license to use, commercialize, and sublicense all content you submit and all AI-generated content from your interactions, including your conversations with AI characters. Users are also subject to mandatory binding arbitration with a class action waiver, a $100 liability cap, and a broad indemnification obligation covering all losses arising from their use of the platform. You can opt out of the arbitration clause by emailing legal@character.ai within 30 days of first agreeing to the terms, which preserves your right to pursue claims in court or as part of a class action.
