The provision operationalizes the subscription billing cycle by defining the automatic renewal trigger, the duration of renewal periods, and the procedural requirement for cancellation. The 24-hour advance cancellation deadline establishes a specific operational deadline that users must meet to prevent the next billing cycle.
Users who maintain an active subscription will experience periodic charges on their Payment Method corresponding to each renewal period, continuing until they affirmatively cancel their subscription. The provision requires users to submit cancellation notices with sufficient advance notice (24 hours before period end) to prevent charges for the subsequent renewal term.

"If you sign up for a paid Subscription, we or the App Distributor will automatically charge your Payment Method on each agreed-upon periodic renewal date until you cancel. If your Subscription has a minimum term (the "Initial Term"), we will let you know during the order process. Your Subscription will last for the Initial Term and will automatically renew, and your Payment Method will be charged, at the end of the Initial Term for an additional term equal in duration to the Initial Term and will continue to renew and incur charges for additional terms equal in duration to the Initial Term (each such additional term, a "Renewal Term") until you cancel. To avoid renewal and charges for the next Renewal Term, cancel your subscription at least 24 hours before the last day of the Initial Term or any Renewal Term.— Excerpt from Anthropic's Claude.ai Terms of Service
