What it is

Suno can permanently delete your account, all your music, and all your uploaded content if your account is inactive for an extended period — and can change these rules at any time without telling you.

Consumer impact (what this means for users)

If you stop using Suno for an unspecified period, your account and all associated Outputs — including songs you have created — can be permanently deleted without warning, and the definition of 'extended period' is not specified.

What you can do

⚠️ These actions may provide transparency or partial mitigation but may not fully address the underlying issue. Effectiveness varies by jurisdiction and individual circumstances.
  • Export Your Data
Download and save offline copies of all Outputs you want to keep via the Suno platform. If you need assistance with data export or want to confirm your account retention status, contact legal@suno.com with your account email address.

Institutional analysis (Compliance & legal intelligence)

1) REGULATORY FRAMEWORK: This provision engages GDPR Art. 5(1)(e) (storage limitation principle) and Art. 17 (right to erasure) for EU/EEA users, which require clear retention periods and data deletion procedures. CCPA §1798.105 grants California users the right to request deletion of personal information. Consumer protection statutes in multiple states require reasonable notice before destroying consumer data. FTC Act Section 5 applies if the lack of defined retention periods constitutes an unfair or deceptive practice. Primary enforcement authorities include the FTC, state AGs, and EU national data protection authorities. 2)
