This page describes what the document states, permits, or reserves. It does not constitute a legal determination about enforceability. Regulatory applicability may vary by jurisdiction. Methodology
This document sets out the rules for using SimpliSafe's security systems and monitoring services. If something goes wrong, the most you can recover from SimpliSafe is $1,000.00 total, and any dispute must go through individual arbitration — not a lawsuit or class action. SimpliSafe provides no warranties on fire, smoke, or carbon monoxide detection, and it is your responsibility to carry your own insurance.
SimpliSafe's Terms of Service establish the contractual framework governing purchase, installation, and use of its security systems and monitoring services. The document imposes binding AAA arbitration for all disputes, prohibits class and representative actions, and caps cumulative liability against any SimpliSafe party at $1,000.00 regardless of the number of incidents or claims. Users release SimpliSafe from all liability for Covered Claims upon acceptance, receive no warranties for fire, smoke, or carbon monoxide detection, and must independently procure insurance at their own expense. Commercial property users additionally bear full indemnification obligations, including for injury and loss of life, and recurring subscription charges bill automatically each month with price increases effective immediately upon email notice.
By accepting these Terms, a user releases SimpliSafe from all liability for Covered Claims and agrees that any dispute will be resolved through individual AAA arbitration, with no option to join a class action or act as a representative of the public. The maximum recoverable amount from SimpliSafe across all incidents and claims combined is $1,000.00. SimpliSafe provides no warranties for fire, smoke, or carbon monoxide detection, and the user is solely responsible for obtaining and paying for separate insurance. Monthly charges bill automatically on the original bill date and price increases can take effect immediately upon email notice. Users on commercial property must release and defend SimpliSafe against all liability, including for injury and loss of life, tied to the purchase, installation, or use of the system. Emergency response under Outdoor Monitoring Services is available only during the selected plan time frame and only when the camera and Outdoor Monitoring Services are enabled.
