Shein's own inspection is the mechanism for determining compliance, and a failed inspection results in both rejection of the return and denial of any refund or credit.
The updated return policy now explicitly conditions the free return offer on compliance with a Fair Use Policy. Previously, the policy stated free returns were available for the first return of 'one or multiple returnable items'; the revised language specifies 'one or more eligible items' and adds the condition that returns are 'subject to our Fair Use Policy.' The actual return-window timeframe and fee structure (free first return, 7.99 USD on subsequent returns) remain unchanged, but Shein now reserves the right to apply undisclosed Fair Use restrictions to determine return eligibility.
View change record →The updated terms removed explicit interface language confirming user agreement to the Terms & Conditions and Privacy & Cookie Policy, and removed text describing the ability to contact Shein to unsubscribe from email marketing. Under the revised interface, users no longer see these acknowledgments during registration or checkout. The underlying Privacy Policy itself was not changed according to the diff; however, the removal of consent and unsubscribe messaging from the user-facing interface may affect how clearly users understand their rights. How other platforms handle this
If we learn that we've collected the personal data of a child under the age of 13 or 16, as applicable, we'll take reasonable steps to delete the personal data. This may require us to delete the Skillshare account...
Our moderators will thoughtfully consider any explanations and supplemental information provided by the Member when deciding whether to take action or reinstate access.
If we become aware that a child has provided us with personal data without parental consent, we remove such data and terminate the child's account (except where we are required to retain all or a portion of such data for compliance purposes).
"If our inspection finds that the returned item is not return-eligible or does not meet the return requirements listed above, we will reject the return and refuse to issue a refund or credit.Excerpt from Shein's Privacy Policy
