This page describes what the document states, permits, or reserves. It does not constitute a legal determination about enforceability. Regulatory applicability may vary by jurisdiction. Methodology
Reverb's Terms of Service govern participation in the Reverb marketplace for buying, selling, and discussing music gear, including account registration, listing conduct, transaction obligations, and the seller fee structure. The agreement authorizes Reverb to charge sellers a selling fee on completed transactions (with the current fee schedule referenced externally), requires identity and tax documentation for payouts, and grants Reverb a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, and distribute any content users post on the platform. The terms also require all disputes to be resolved through individual binding arbitration under JAMS rules, with users waiving the right to participate in class action proceedings.
This document constitutes the Terms of Service governing use of Reverb.com, a peer-to-peer marketplace for buying, selling, and discussing music gear, operated by Reverb.com, LLC, a subsidiary of Etsy. The agreement states that users grant Reverb a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute, and display any content submitted to the platform; the terms also authorize Reverb to collect a selling fee on completed transactions, withhold payouts pending identity verification, and suspend or terminate accounts at its discretion. The agreement includes a mandatory arbitration clause with a class action waiver requiring disputes to be resolved through individual binding arbitration administered by JAMS, and separately reserves to Reverb the right to modify fees and terms upon notice, with continued use constituting acceptance. The document engages the FTC Act with respect to consumer protection and unfair or deceptive practices, California consumer protection law given Reverb's US incorporation and California governing law clause, and the EU Digital Services Act and GDPR to the extent Reverb operates in the EU/EEA; compliance with GDPR and DSA obligations may require evaluation independent of the contractual terms as stated. The arbitration and class action waiver provisions may face enforceability challenges in certain jurisdictions, including EU member states, where such waivers are generally not recognized under applicable consumer protection law.
The agreement establishes that all disputes between users and Reverb must proceed through individual binding arbitration administered by JAMS, and users waive participation in class action or class arbitration proceedings. Under these terms, sellers are subject to identity verification requirements before payouts are released, and Reverb reserves the right to withhold funds pending compliance with those requirements. You can opt out of the arbitration provision by sending written notice to Reverb within 30 days of first accepting the Terms of Service, as described in the arbitration section of the agreement.
