Your Replicate subscription automatically renews and charges your payment method unless you cancel before the renewal date, and Replicate can raise fees at any time with notice before your next billing cycle.
Consumer impact (what this means for users)
This clause means your payment method will be charged automatically every billing cycle, and Replicate can increase your subscription fees at any time — if you don't cancel before the renewal date, you'll be billed at the new rate even if you disagree with the change.
What you can do
⚠️ These actions may provide transparency or partial mitigation but may not fully address the underlying issue. Effectiveness varies by jurisdiction and individual circumstances.
Cancel Subscription
Email support@replicate.com to cancel your subscription. Your cancellation must be received before your subscription renewal date to avoid being charged for the next period — check your Subscription Billing Date in your account settings.
Cross-platform context
See how other platforms handle Auto-Renewing Subscription and Unilateral Fee Modification and similar clauses.
Automatic renewals can result in unexpected charges, and Replicate's right to change fees unilaterally at renewal means your costs can increase without your active approval — you must cancel before the new price takes effect to avoid being charged.

Some parts of the Services are billed on a subscription basis with automatically recuring payments for periodic charges ("Subscription(s)"). The "Subscription Billing Date" is the date when you purchase your first Subscription to the Services. The Subscription will begin on the Subscription Billing Date and continue for the subscription period that you select on your Account (such period, the "Initial Subscription Period"), and will automatically renew for successive periods of the same duration as the Initial Subscription Period... We may in our sole discretion and at any time, modify fees for any Subscriptions we offer for any part of our Service. Any Subscription fee change will become effective upon the next renewal Subscription Period.
(1) REGULATORY FRAMEWORK: This provision implicates FTC Act Section 5 (unfair or deceptive billing practices) and the FTC's Negative Option Rule (16 CFR Part 425), which requires clear and conspicuous disclosure of automatic renewal terms before subscription. California's Automatic Renewal Law (Cal. Bus. & Prof. Code §17600 et seq.) requires explicit consumer consent and clear cancellation instructions. Similar statutes exist in New York (NY GBL §527) and Illinois. The FTC is the primary federal enforcement authority.
