This page describes what the document states, permits, or reserves. It does not constitute a legal determination about enforceability. Regulatory applicability may vary by jurisdiction. Methodology
This document establishes the Terms of Service governing user access to Hugging Face's platform, including its model hub, datasets repository, inference services, and related machine learning tools. The agreement grants Hugging Face a worldwide license to use, reproduce, and create derivative works from user-posted content, and designates public repositories as subject to a perpetual, irrevocable license extended to all platform users. The agreement permits Hugging Face to modify, suspend, or discontinue services at its sole discretion without advance notice.
This document governs use of Hugging Face's machine learning platform, including the Hub, open-source libraries, inference services, AutoTrain, and enterprise offerings, and constitutes a binding agreement between Hugging Face, Inc. (a Delaware corporation) and all users and customers. The terms authorize Hugging Face to modify, suspend, or discontinue services at any time with or without notice and without liability; require users to grant a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to use, display, reproduce, distribute, and make derivative works of uploaded content to provide services; and establish that fees are exclusive of taxes, with pricing subject to adjustment at Hugging Face's sole discretion. The content license grant for public repositories extends perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free rights to each user of the platform, which is operationally significant for organizations sharing models or datasets publicly; the terms also assert the right to terminate accounts and remove content at sole discretion, with limited notice obligations. The agreement engages the FTC Act regarding unfair or deceptive practices in consumer-facing digital services, GDPR and CCPA through its Privacy Policy incorporation by reference, and COPPA through a minimum age threshold of 13; EU users should evaluate whether certain provisions, including unilateral modification with 10-day notice and broad content licensing, interact with applicable consumer protection and data protection obligations under EU law.
