ConductAtlas Analysis

Why it matters (compliance & governance perspective)

This provision establishes a geographically differentiated opt-out structure where the only available mechanism for users outside EEA, Switzerland, and the UK to stop employer data sharing is account closure, which may engage CPRA opt-out-of-sale rights for California residents depending on how the data sharing is characterized.

Interpretive note: Whether the account-closure mechanism satisfies CPRA opt-out-of-sale requirements for California residents depends on how data sharing with employers is characterized under CPRA definitions and is subject to regulatory interpretation.

Consumer impact (what this means for users)

Under this clause, MyGreenhouse users outside the EEA, Switzerland, and UK who do not want their Personal Information shared with potential employers must close their account. EEA, Swiss, and UK users may submit an opt-out request via the in-app link or by emailing job-seeker-optout@greenhouse.io without closing their account.

What you can do

⚠️ These actions may provide transparency or partial mitigation but may not fully address the underlying issue. Effectiveness varies by jurisdiction and individual circumstances.
  • Close Your Account
