The page discloses that Robinhood's services are delivered through four distinct legal entities: Robinhood Financial LLC (brokerage, SIPC member), Robinhood Securities, LLC (clearing, SIPC member), Robinhood Crypto, LLC (cryptocurrency), and Robinhood Money, LLC (spending account, licensed money transmitter), each potentially subject to separate agreements and regulatory frameworks.
This analysis describes what Robinhood's agreement states, permits, or reserves. It does not constitute a legal determination about enforceability. Regulatory applicability and practical outcomes may vary by jurisdiction, enforcement context, and individual circumstances. Read our methodology
This multi-entity structure means that the rights, protections, regulatory frameworks, and dispute resolution mechanisms applicable to a given user depend on which product or account type is used; SIPC protections apply to brokerage accounts held at RHF and RHS but do not apply to cryptocurrency holdings at Robinhood Crypto, LLC or funds in the spending account at Robinhood Money, LLC.
The agreement establishes that different Robinhood products are governed by separate legal entities and separate agreements. Under this structure, protections such as SIPC coverage apply only to brokerage accounts and not to cryptocurrency or spending account balances, and the specific terms applicable to each product must be located in the corresponding agreement within the Disclosure Library.

"Robinhood means Robinhood Markets, Inc. and its in-application and web experiences with its family of wholly-owned subsidiaries. Brokerage services are offered through Robinhood Financial LLC, ("RHF") a registered broker dealer (member SIPC) and clearing services through Robinhood Securities, LLC, ("RHS") a registered broker dealer (member SIPC). Cryptocurrency services are offered through Robinhood Crypto, LLC. The Robinhood Money spending account is offered through Robinhood Money, LLC, a licensed money transmitter.Excerpt from Robinhood's Customer Agreement
(1) REGULATORY LANDSCAPE: The multi-entity structure engages distinct regulatory frameworks for each subsidiary: RHF and RHS are subject to SEC and FINRA regulation and SIPC membership requirements; Robinhood Crypto, LLC is subject to state money transmission licensing and, where applicable, FinCEN BSA/AML requirements; Robinhood Money, LLC as a licensed money transmitter is subject to state money transmission laws and FinCEN requirements. SIPC protections under the Securities Investor Protection Act apply only to the broker-dealer entities. (2) GOVERNANCE EXPOSURE: High. The multi-entity structure creates compliance complexity for institutional reviewers in that each entity's regulatory obligations, customer agreements, and dispute resolution terms must be assessed separately; conflation of protections across entities creates material risk of misrepresentation to clients. (3) JURISDICTION FLAGS: State money transmission licensing for Robinhood Money, LLC creates jurisdiction-specific exposure; not all states may authorize all Robinhood Money products, which is reflected in the existence of an RHF Jurisdictions disclosure document in the library. Cryptocurrency regulatory obligations for Robinhood Crypto, LLC vary significantly by state. (4) CONTRACT AND VENDOR IMPLICATIONS: B2B partners, white-label integrators, and institutional clients must identify which Robinhood entity they are contracting with and ensure the applicable regulatory framework and agreement terms are assessed for that specific entity. (5) COMPLIANCE CONSIDERATIONS: Compliance teams should map each product or service used to the corresponding legal entity and governing agreement, confirm SIPC coverage applicability and limits for brokerage assets, and verify that cryptocurrency and spending account disclosures accurately represent the absence of SIPC protection for those products.
