No-Refund Policy for Digital Content

High severity
Share 𝕏 Share in Share 🔒 PDF

What it is

Once you start downloading a digital game or piece of content from the PlayStation Store, PlayStation's policy is generally that you cannot get a refund.

Consumer impact (what this means for users)

Consumers who purchase digital games or add-ons on the PlayStation Store lose the ability to seek a refund as soon as the download starts, which is a significant financial risk given that game prices can reach $70 or more.

What you can do

⚠️ These actions may provide transparency or partial mitigation but may not fully address the underlying issue. Effectiveness varies by jurisdiction and individual circumstances.
  • Dispute a Fee
If you believe you are entitled to a refund for a digital purchase (e.g., due to a defect or misrepresentation), submit a refund request through PlayStation's online support portal. Document the issue and submit as soon as possible after the problem is identified.

Why it matters (compliance & risk perspective)

Digital purchases are final once download begins, meaning if a game is defective, not as advertised, or incompatible with your system, you may have no right to a refund under these Terms.
