Code of Conduct Enforcement

Medium severity
Share 𝕏 Share in Share 🔒 PDF

What it is

PlayStation can suspend or terminate your account and console if you or your child breaks any of their rules, and they have wide discretion to decide what counts as a violation.

Consumer impact (what this means for users)

A Code of Conduct violation — determined solely by PlayStation — can result in permanent loss of access to all purchased digital content and hardware functionality, with no defined independent appeals process.

What you can do

⚠️ These actions may provide transparency or partial mitigation but may not fully address the underlying issue. Effectiveness varies by jurisdiction and individual circumstances.
  • Dispute a Fee
If you believe your account or console was suspended in error due to a Code of Conduct decision, contact PlayStation Support through the online portal and submit a dispute. Provide as much detail as possible about the circumstances of the alleged violation.

Why it matters (compliance & risk perspective)

The Code of Conduct is enforced with consequences as severe as permanent hardware bans, but the standards for what constitutes a violation are set and interpreted unilaterally by PlayStation.
