Hugging Face Terms of Service

This is the legal agreement that governs your use of Hugging Face's AI platform, which includes tools for hosting, sharing, and running machine learning models and datasets. The most important thing to know is that when you upload content to a public repository, you grant every other user a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, and make derivative works of that content — meaning you cannot take it back. If you share anything publicly on Hugging Face, treat it as permanently and irrevocably available to everyone.

This document governs the use of Hugging Face's machine learning platform and services — including the Hub, Inference Providers, AutoTrain, and Inference Endpoints — and constitutes a binding agreement between Hugging Face, Inc. (a Delaware corporation) and individual or organizational users, effective September 15, 2022. Users are prohibited from engaging in illegal activity, violating third-party intellectual property rights, reverse engineering the platform, or uploading content that is misleading or harmful, and must be at least 13 years of age to create an account. Notable provisions include a broad royalty-free license granted to Hugging Face over user content, an irrevocable perpetual license granted to all users over public repository content, unilateral right to modify or discontinue services without liability, and a limitation of liability cap that excludes indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
