Change Summary
Perplexity AI restructured its privacy policy on July 5, 2026, renaming it to 'Privacy Notice' and substantially reorganizing how it describes data collection. The updated document now explicitly lists specific data collection contexts—account registration, Comet browser settings, Email Assistant, and demographics—with stated legal bases for each. The prior policy used broader categorical language; the revised version adds detailed examples, legal justifications per collection method, and specific statements about local data storage in the Comet browser, email content analysis, and Google API compliance.
