ConductAtlas Analysis

Institutional analysis (regulatory & governance intelligence)

(1) REGULATORY LANDSCAPE: This refund policy may engage consumer protection statutes in EU member states, the UK Consumer Rights Act, and various US state consumer protection laws that prescribe minimum refund rights or cancellation procedures, particularly for subscription-based digital services. The EU's Digital Services Act and the EU Consumer Rights Directive may impose additional obligations on subscription cancellation and refund practices for EU-based users. (2) GOVERNANCE EXPOSURE: Low to Medium. The 30-day refund window is a defined and disclosed policy. However, the complete absence of pro-rata refunds for annual subscriptions after 30 days may engage consumer protection scrutiny in jurisdictions requiring proportionate refunds for prepaid services. (3) JURISDICTION FLAGS: EU users may have statutory cancellation and refund rights that exceed what this clause provides, particularly under the EU Consumer Rights Directive's 14-day cooling-off period for digital services. California and other states may have consumer protection statutes relevant to automatic renewal and cancellation terms. (4) CONTRACT AND VENDOR IMPLICATIONS: Enterprise customers should assess whether their agreements with Tabnine include negotiated refund or credit terms that supersede this provision, as the standard Terms provide no pro-rata credit for annual subscriptions cancelled after 30 days. (5) COMPLIANCE CONSIDERATIONS: Organizations procuring annual Tabnine subscriptions should note the complete absence of refund rights after 30 days and plan procurement and renewal cycles accordingly. Subscription auto-renewal practices should be reviewed against applicable jurisdiction requirements.
