By posting any content to the RapidAPI platform, users grant Rapid a permanent, royalty-free, worldwide license that cannot be revoked, and that Rapid may sublicense to third parties, to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute, perform, and display that content in any medium on or off the platform. Rapid separately retains all rights in API metadata, performance data, and service logs.

The updated terms establish a new GenAI Features category available through the Service and specify the operational and liability framework governing their use. GenAI Features are provided on an 'as is, as available' basis with no warranties regarding accuracy, reliability, or fitness for any purpose. Under the revised terms, users assume sole responsibility for evaluating and verifying any outputs generated by GenAI Features before taking action based on them. Where chatbot functionality is included, the terms specify that chatbot responses are informational only, may be inaccurate or incomplete, and users must not submit personal data to chatbots. RapidAPI disclaims all liability for losses arising from reliance on GenAI or chatbot outputs.

(1) REGULATORY LANDSCAPE: The perpetual and irrevocable nature of the content license may interact with GDPR Article 17 right to erasure requirements for EU users, where personal data embedded in user content may be subject to deletion rights that conflict with the irrevocable license assertion; applicable law may limit enforceability of the irrevocability term with respect to personal data. CCPA deletion rights for California consumers may similarly create tension with this clause. (2) GOVERNANCE EXPOSURE: Medium. For API Providers posting proprietary API documentation, interface specifications, or commercially sensitive content to the marketplace, the perpetual sublicensable license represents an IP governance consideration that warrants legal review prior to platform engagement. The retention of rights in API metadata and performance data is separately stated and not subject to the user content license framework. (3) JURISDICTION FLAGS: EU users and California residents with data deletion rights may have statutory grounds to request removal of personal data embedded in user content notwithstanding this license; the interaction between the irrevocable license and applicable deletion rights should be evaluated for platforms operating in those jurisdictions. (4) CONTRACT AND VENDOR IMPLICATIONS: API Providers using the platform to distribute commercially sensitive or proprietary API content should assess whether the scope of this license, including the right to create derivative works and sublicense, is consistent with their IP ownership and confidentiality obligations to their own clients or licensors. (5) COMPLIANCE CONSIDERATIONS: Legal teams should assess whether content posted by their organization to RapidAPI contains personal data, trade secrets, or third-party licensed materials that may be affected by the scope of this license. The irrevocability of the license should be flagged in any IP audit or vendor agreement review.
