Share 𝕏 Share in Share

What it is

When Gemini Apps Activity is enabled, Google may use your conversations to train and improve its AI models. This is on by default for most users.

Why it matters

Your personal conversations and queries may be permanently incorporated into AI training datasets, potentially influencing how Gemini responds to millions of users.

Institutional analysis (Compliance & legal intelligence)

Use of personal data for AI model training as a default setting may conflict with GDPR's data minimization and purpose limitation principles (Articles 5 and 6) and requires a lawful basis. Under CPRA, use of personal information for AI training beyond the primary service purpose may require opt-out mechanisms for California residents.

You can turn off Gemini Apps Activity at myaccount.google.com to stop your conversations from being used for AI model training.
