Users under 18 cannot use Fireworks AI without a parent or legal guardian who has agreed to the Terms and takes full responsibility for the minor's activity.
If a minor uses Fireworks AI's platform, their parent or guardian becomes legally bound by these Terms — including the arbitration clause and all financial obligations — and is responsible for all of the minor's actions on the service.

Compare across platforms →This provision creates legal responsibility for parents whose children use the service, and reflects Fireworks AI's obligations under COPPA to restrict and disclose children's data collection practices.
(1) REGULATORY FRAMEWORK: This provision implicates COPPA (15 U.S.C. §6501 et seq., 16 CFR Part 312), enforced by the FTC, which requires verifiable parental consent before collecting personal information from children under 13. The FTC's 2024 COPPA Rule amendments expand these requirements. For users aged 13-17, the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act and state minors' privacy laws (California AB 2273, Age-Appropriate Design Code) impose additional obligations on platforms likely to be accessed by minors.
