Apple Intelligence Privacy Report

Apple Intelligence is built to handle your personal requests without Apple collecting your personal data, running as much as possible on your own device. When tasks require cloud processing, your data is used only to answer your request and is not stored by Apple afterward. You control whether Apple collects even aggregated trend data about your usage through a setting you can turn off at any time.

This document establishes the privacy architecture of Apple Intelligence, grounding its design in a stated principle that personal intelligence is delivered without Apple collecting personal data. On-device processing is the preferred mode, and where cloud processing is required, Private Cloud Compute transmits only data relevant to the request, processes it solely to fulfill that request, retains nothing, and makes no data accessible to Apple. The limited metadata collected about Private Cloud Compute requests is scoped to approximate size, features used, and duration — explicitly excluding request or result content — and is neither identifiable nor linked to a user's Apple Account. Aggregated feature improvement and Device Analytics collection are conditioned on privacy-preserving techniques and, for Device Analytics, on user opt-in, with a user-accessible setting to disable that sharing at any time.

As a user, Apple Intelligence processes your on-device information — such as calendar events and frequently used apps — locally whenever possible, with cloud processing limited to only what is relevant to your specific request, after which nothing is retained by Apple. The metadata Apple does collect about cloud requests contains no content from your request or result and cannot be linked back to your identity or Apple Account. If you have opted in to Device Analytics sharing and wish to stop it, you can disable it at any time on your iOS, iPadOS, or visionOS device through Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements.
