No Deletion of On-Chain Data

High severity
Share 𝕏 Share in Share

Why it matters

This is a structural limitation on your privacy rights — once your transactions are on the blockchain, they are permanent and publicly visible, and no company can remove them regardless of what the law requires.

Consumer impact

Uniswap Labs collects minimal personal data by default, but does log your public blockchain wallet address and device-level information, and shares your wallet address with third-party blockchain analytics providers to screen for illicit activity. Your transaction history on the blockchain itself is publicly visible and cannot be deleted or altered by Uniswap Labs. You can submit a data access or deletion request by emailing privacy@uniswap.org.

Applicable agencies

  • FTC
The FTC may assess whether the structural inability to honor deletion requests constitutes a deceptive or unfair practice in the context of data subject rights representations.
    File a complaint →
  • State AG
California's AG enforces CCPA deletion rights, and the inability to delete on-chain data may be relevant to CCPA compliance assessments.
